Top Tips for a Successful Christmas Breakfast
Prep as much as you can the night before
Chop all of the fruit, assemble any casseroles, or mix the batter for your muffins or pancakes.
Anything I can do to save time and energy the morning of my get-together, I’m all about it! This way, all you have to do is bake or reheat in the morning.
Use disposable bakeware or easy-to-clean pans
I don’t know about you, but I’d rather not be washing dishes while my family’s opening gifts. Having disposable pans, or slow cooker liners, takes the stress out of cleanup.
Set up a self-serve breakfast station
Lay out any plates, napkins, cups, and plasticware the night before. Create a small area for drinks, like coffee and juice.
This lets everyone help themselves without the added stress on you!
Warm food in a slow cooker
I do this with foods like gravy and scrambled eggs. I’ll make them on the stovetop, then transfer to my slow cooker to keep everything warm.
Have “finger-friendly” foods for kids
Mini muffins, burritos, and even pancake “sticks” are easy for kids to grab and is fairly non-messy.
Make a kids’ breakfast box
If your kids wake up way before you, set out a basket of snacks like fruit, muffins, or yogurt pouches. This can help hold them over until you wake up and get the full breakfast ready.
