Ingredients for hot chocolate dip, on a stovetop

Ingredients

My favorite part: This recipe has only 4 simple ingredients.

  • Hot cocoa mix
  • Cream cheese block, room temperature
  • Marshmallow fluff (Also called marshmallow creme)
  • Cool Whip, thawed

What type of hot cocoa works best?

Your favorite brand is fine when it comes to choosing hot chocolate mix!

2 cups seems like a lot, but you can buy big canisters of the mix at the grocery store instead of buying hot chocolate packets and opening up each one.

I have a local grocery outlet nearby, and they sell bags of the hot cocoa mix you would find made at a restaurant. That’s where I got mine!

Can you use homemade whipped cream instead of Cool Whip?

I’ve never used the homemade in this, but I’m not sure how well it would hold its consistency. I recommend just using store-bought whipped topping for this recipe.

What’s the best way to combine the ingredients?

I used my stand mixer with the paddle attachment! It’s pretty hands-off and easy to mix.

Alternatively, you can also use a hand mixer.

How long does this last in the fridge?

Once this is fully made, it’ll stay fresh for about 5 days in the fridge!

Can you freeze this?

This recipe can’t be frozen. Cream cheese thaws in a weird way, and you won’t have that same delicious consistency. For best results, make it fresh and plan to use it up within a few days.

Since this makes so much, I recommend halving the recipe so you don’t have a ton sitting around!
