I’m finally back with another grocery post!
I hope you all had a great Christmas and New Year. Christmas week I was in Florida and couldn’t take pictures of my shopping trip there, and when we got back Sunday New Year’s Eve, I just couldn’t muster the strength to do a whole grocery post in one night. So now we’re back to normal!
One of my goals for 2018 is to up my vegetable intake, and that’s exactly what I’m doing this week. I’m going to start mixing in as much PiYo as I can with my half marathon training and need to start eating more; and I’m very loosely following the PiYo eating plan on the highest calorie level. You can read more about the plan here and get accurate numbers; but as of right now, my goal is to eat the 7 servings of protein and 6 servings of veggies every day and let the others fall where they may. I’ll be eating way more grains than allowed because, well, carbs. But really, it seems to be working so I’ll stick with it for awhile! (Note: I’m not a Beachbody coach; I just like their workout programs!)
You might see me buying more stuff at Wal Mart from now on, too; namely, that huge 3 1/2 pound bag of frozen Normandy veggies. It’s the only place I know of that sells this huge bag, and I’m addicted! I also found rolls of turkey sausage for $1.50, whereas Jennie-o sells for $3.29. I’ve never heard of this brand though, so I’ll let you know how it tastes!
Keeping in mind that I’m upping both my protein and veggie intake to keep up with my training, here’s what I bought this week and what we’ll be eating:
