This weekend, I was so excited- I actually went inside Aldi for the first time since like March! And it went really well- there was someone out front sanitizing all the carts; another right inside counting the people that walked in; and arrows pointing us down the one-way aisles. I got everything I needed, including fresh and cheap produce. It felt SO good to be back!
I’d been trying to avoid the stores as much as possible during this time; but I’m just now starting to feel comfortable going out by myself, and I knew Aldi had to be one of my first stops.
So, not included in my grocery money, but something I wanted to show you anyway, are these snacks I bought on Amazon using gift cards.
I’ve been gushing on Instagram over this app called Hatch by CSpace. It’s a survey app; while you don’t qualify for everything, and you have to wait 2-3 weeks to get your Amazon gift cards, the payout is huge. Last week I got $42.00 in gift cards from surveys I’d taken a few weeks before, and I’m waiting on another $25.00 to come in soon!
You get paid anywhere from $2.00-$15.00 per survey and they only take 5-10 minutes max. Seriously, if you want some extra gift cards, sign up today! I’m not getting paid to talk about this app; I just enjoy it that much.
Also, today starts my free 5-day challenge in my Facebook group– “Healthy Summer Kickstart”! If you want some Summer recipes and tips to stay healthy in the heat, head on over!
Wal Mart
I did Wal Mart’s grocery pickup because they had a few things Aldi didn’t:
- Spring roll wrappers
- Enchilada sauce
- Coleslaw mix
- K-cups
- Whole wheat pasta
Those chocolate K-Cups are amazing. It was my first time trying them and I highly recommend!
The only substitution was that Eckrich turkey smoked sausage. I wanted ground turkey sausage; but I’m using those for breakfast burritos so it’ll still work!
Total: $35.56
Aldi
It felt really good to be in-store again! They had everything I needed, including the fresh chicken which I had heard was totally out the day before.
And strangely enough, Aldi has the best cottage cheese out of every brand I’ve tried. The 4% is super creamy and you just can’t beat it. Does anyone else have a favorite brand?
Total: $54.18
Weekly Total: $89.74. This leaves us with an extra $10.00 in the budget that we’ll put towards our Sam’s Club fund.
