Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce

Need an easy, freezer friendly meal for Fall? This Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce cooks all day and is perfect for feeding a crowd!

This Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce is freezer friendly, easy to make, and serves a crowd!

I love using jarred spaghetti sauce.

It’s easy to buy, it’s pretty cheap, and it’s fast to use when you need a quick dinner.

But there’s something about using your own homemade spaghetti sauce. I think for me, it’s the fact that I get more out of every serving. A serving size of jarred sauce is a half cup, but mine is almost a full cup.

I’m a huge sauce person, in case you couldn’t tell.

Also, my recipe serves 8. Have you noticed how a jar of sauce serves 6, but a box of pasta serves 7-8? That’s kind of not fair. But my sauce has all your pasta covered. Literally.

My recipe for Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce contains just a few ingredients and you can customize it however you want. You really can’t mess up spaghetti sauce.

Add more or different spices. Chop up some onions or use onion powder. Add some cooked ground beef, or chopped vegetables like zucchini or mushrooms.

The most common way I use this sauce is poured directly over pasta. It was especially good over the ravioli we had with this batch, with my Freezer Meatballs! I also use this in my Chicken Parmesan Sandwiches, or sometimes even in pasta casseroles.

This sauce is also freezer friendly! You can pour the entire batch into gallon-sized freezer bags, or put one cup at a time into smaller bags or containers to get out when needed.

By the way, these freezer bag holders are worth the money! I use them every time I need a freezer bag for sauces, soups, or shredded cheese.

You could easily fill your slow cooker with this sauce and a bunch of extras (Ground beef, etc.) and just make it a freezer cooking day. I’ve done this before, and it’s nice to have something cooking in the background while I do other things.

Whether it’s a cool Fall night, or you’re just craving some pasta, this Slow Cooker Spaghetti Sauce will be the perfect fit!

What kind of extras do you like to add to your spaghetti sauce? Leave a comment and let me know!

I love to add mushrooms and spinach to my pasta sauce! I have to admit I've never made my own sauce before. Jarred sauce is my go-to. I will be trying this out this week! I'm glad I found your blog! You've got a lot of great, practical advice. I've just recently become a stay at home mom, leaving us a family of 5 on one income. I'm trying to get everything more organized, planned, and budgeted so we can stretch what we have so finding your blog has come at a good time! :)
