$85 Weekly Shopping and Menu 10-28-19

Image of groceries with the title "$85 weekly shopping for a family of 3"

Once again, I did almost all of my shopping at Wal Mart this week!

For this weekend, I needed to buy both groceries and food for Allison’s birthday parties. I knew that would take awhile, so I decided to use Wal Mart’s Grocery Pickup again. And I’m glad I did. Buying almost $100.00 worth of food sounds like a lot of shopping!

This time around, they didn’t have the quinoa in stock that I ordered. And somehow, I didn’t order cottage cheese and rice. I thought I put them on the list; but the app was being wonky and wasn’t registering when I clicked an item. Lesson learned: Double check before you place an order!

Luckily, I’m about $15.00 under budget (How did that happen???), so I’ll be going out early this week to pick those up. And I’ll probably save the rest for this weekend, because Meijer’s frozen veggies are really cheap right now.

The only other store I visited was Kroger because split chicken breasts were on sale. I don’t know why I’ve been scared of chicken in bones; these are a dollar cheaper per pound than boneless breasts and I typically shred my chicken anyway. Hurray for finding a new way to save money!

As always, check out my video to get more in-depth of what I bought:

Aw, thank you! The house didn't come with countertops when we bought it, and we're happy with how it turned out. =)

I'm suddenly craving shrimp now; too bad I'm the only one that eats it. Maybe I'll buy a small bag for myself! Do you usually buy them on sale somewhere?
