What a great Labor Day weekend! We’re back to normal tomorrow, but we’ve enjoyed having some time to relax, go to Kings Island, and today we’re grilling out.
The only thing I bought this week to stock up was blueberries. I’ve found that frozen blueberries are amazing in yogurt with these Belvita biscuits you’ll see below. I guess you could say this breakfast is my new addiction. I’m super excited for shopping this coming up weekend though, because take a look at what’s on sale next week at Meijer:
- Chocolate chips: $.99
- Goldfish crackers: $.89! I may buy a few to donate to Allison’s preschool.
- Frozen vegetables: $1.00. FINALLY! And I’m going earlier in the morning, because the last two times I’ve tried to buy frozen veggies, they’ve all been sold out. Seriously. Someone’s out to get me.
I may try to eat out of our pantry next week so I can buy like a year’s supply of frozen vegetables. It’s nice to be able to just throw a bag in the microwave and have actual veggies ready in less than 10 minutes. Here’s everything I bought this week:
Panko bread crumbs: $1.69
Frozen peas: $1.25
6 cups Dannon pumpkin yogurt: $1.00 each
Hot dog buns: $.83
Cooking spray: $1.49
Angel food cake mix: $1.99
8 cups vanilla yogurt: $.33 each
Ground turkey: $1.89
Sweet potatoes: $1.79
Bacon bits: $1.29
Potato chips: $1.09
3 containers blueberries: $1.29 each. All of these are going in the freezer!
5 containers strawberries: $.99 each
Yellow squash: $1.49
2 packages zucchini: $1.39 each
Baby wipes: $1.29
Sliced cheddar: $1.79
3 packages hot dogs: $1.99 each
2 dozen eggs: $.47 each
Whipped cream: $2.99
2 boxes Belvita Protein biscuits: $4.00 each. These are amazing prices, and even though they expired August 23rd, they’re still good for awhile!
Weekly Total: $66.00. I have a slight overage which will go towards stocking up next week!

Ground beef quesadillas* (Meat and cheese in freezer), roasted zucchini
Cook out: Hot dogs, summer squash casserole, ranch pasta salad, chips, angel food cake with whipped cream and strawberries
Grilled chicken breast*, bulgur* and spinach, grapes
Ground turkey sweet potato skillet
Annie’s mac and cheese* with hot dogs, frozen peas
Sausage patties* with English muffins* and sliced cheese
Yogurt with Belvita biscuits* and fruit
Rice cakes* with peanut butter*, strawberries, string cheese*, yogurt, raisins*
Also making these homemade Clif bars for a gathering at church (Yay for having all the ingredients already!)
