Happy (almost) 4th of July! This weekend’s shopping trip was geared toward a cookout I’m hosting at my house (I like to go big). The good news is, we’ll probably have leftovers to last us a couple days! We also have a few days of eating out, which we don’t include in groceries, so I was able to stock up on a few things we were out of- like flour and yeast. I was hoping to buy chicken but it wasn’t on sale, so I have an extra $9.00 to spend next week if I can find good-priced chicken.
I’m being especially lazy this week, too. I’m normally pretty good at making some of my own food- like homemade biscuits, brownies, and baked beans. But honestly, I just wanted a low-key week; and sometimes that means buying pre-packaged stuff. There’s absolutely nothing wrong with that! It’s all about balance, and it keeps us sane.
Strawberries were 99 cents at Aldi! I bought 5 packages, and chopped and froze 3 of them. I like putting strawberries in my yogurt and now’s the best time to stock up because they’re in season. Now I just have to wait for blueberries to go to down to 99 cents. Here’s the rest of what I bought this week:
