Guys, I've been using my blender like a chump the past few months. I'd fill my blender maybe a quarter of the way with smoothie ingredients, and as I'd pulse, all the liquid would splatter all over the inside and take forever to blend the smoothie. Then I'd pour it into a tall glass and would have to wash both the glass AND the clunky blender container! When I was on vacation recently my cousin introduced a way to make a smoothie that just Blew. My. Mind.

A regular sized Mason jar top will fit the bottom of most blenders! Just pour all your ingredients into the jar, screw on the lid, attach to the blender, and watch the magic happen! Everything pulses in a smaller area and takes only seconds to finish! And all you have to wash are the jar and the blender bottom. I've been making smoothies every day since I learned this! In addition to this tip, I've included a recipe for my new favorite smoothie! All you need is:
1 cup almond milk (or regular milk)
2 tablespoons all natural peanut butter
1 scoop chocolate protein powder
1 frozen banana, chopped

Simply add all the ingredients into your mason jar and attach to your blender until the chocolate-y, peanut buttery goodness is fully blended! This smoothie is delicious, healthy, and keeps me full! It's the perfect breakfast.
(Note: I've been notified that we should all be careful doing this, as it wasn't technically meant to be used with a blender! Just use caution to make sure the glass doesn't break.)

I've really been wondering about this lately. Who wants to go buy a separate individual smoothie maker or clean up extra containers? Not me!!! LOL This solves both problems. I like that you have the mason jars with the handles, too. Thank you!
I forgot I even had those jars until we looked in our cabinets. =) It fits perfectly!
This is genius! I've never seen this idea before! And less dishes to wash is always a plus 🙂
That little cup fits so much easier in the dishwasher than the huge blender. =)
Wow, I had no idea that would work! I have the same problem, but now I guess I won't have to worry about it any more 😉
I was surprised it worked, but so glad it did. =P
This is an awesome trick!
I know, smoothies are so much easier to make now!
I personally wouldn't do this, the extra dish isn't worth the chance of the jar breaking. But I would note for those who want to try it out that you need to make sure you use a canning strength jar that hasn't been through the dishwasher and has no minor cracks chips etc.
Rebecca, I'm Jamie's cousin who introduced her to the trick. While my jar is canning strength I've never had any issues and it's been through the dishwasher several times. I do however recommend holding the top of the jar, as the jar is not as heavy as the full blender glass.
Thank you for your honest opinion! I actually hadn't thought about that but it makes sense because it's not part of the blender. I'll add a disclaimer at the bottom just to be safe. =)
This is so awesome - I had never thought of this. I have a nutribullet, but I think this would be awesome for parties and frozen margaritas!
Clever hack! Definitely will save some time - and dish washing!
This is seriously genius! What an awesome idea!!
I'm rocking a Ninja that has the motor on top, but this is genius. Who would have ever known?
OMG!!! No... get out. I hate doing so many dishes and my kids LOVE fruit smoothies and my husband and I are protein smoothie freaks. Lady you just saved me so much time. And, with 5 kids that is something precious to me- many thanks!!!
Wow!! I'm amazed and in awe over this idea! I'm going to give it a try next time I make smoothies (or milkshakes). 🙂
This is genius, can't wait to try this hack! And only one thing to wash...priceless!
Oh my gosh you are a genius! I'm for sure giving this a try lol! Thank you for sharing!
NO WAY!!! This is the most amazing thing ever!! I have to go try this tomorrow! Thanks for sharing!
GENIUS! Love this idea. . . and that smoothie recipe sounds delish!
