Has anybody seen on Pinterest the 12 days of Christmas gifts for your husband? I did this the first year John and I were married and he loved it! The idea is that you start on December 13th and give him one gift a day leading up to Christmas Eve. They could correspond with the number of the day; for example, day 2 could be a pair of socks. I can’t even remember everything I did last time, so I’m starting new again this year! It was tough keeping this from him; I’ve been working on this for awhile and I had to hide his presents. I’ll be updating this post every day for the entire 12 days with everything I’ve given him! If you need inspiration, here’s the first post I read that inspired me to do this, and here are the printables I used for the gift tags.
Day 1: Chipotle Tabasco sauce. He LOVES this stuff. We bought a half gallon tub at one point and we ate it like crazy. He’s been dropping hints that he wanted more, so here’s his surprise. =)
Day 2: Two boxes of tea. John is not a coffee drinker. I’m sad about that; he just doesn’t appreciate its amazing-ness! However, he loves tea, and he loves the Bigelow brand. I wish he hadn’t woken up way earlier this morning; I was trying to leave this for him so he could enjoy it this morning, but he’ll just have to wait till tonight to see it!
Day 3: 3 undershirts. He actually bought some right after I had planned to use this as day 3, and I didn’t feel like thinking of something else. So now he has enough to last forever!
Day 4: 4 handprints. Please ignore the fifth random handprint up there; Allison ninja’d another one when I wasn’t looking! It was supposed to be a snowflake, but hey, toddler handprints make great gifts no matter the shape, right?
Day 5: 5 sticks of gum. I gave him the rest of them of course. =)
Day 6: A 6-pack of soda. He’s going to love bringing one to work every day for extra caffeine!
Day 7: 7 ways to make hot chocolate. I have mini marshmallows, chocolate marshmallows, caramel syrup, cinnamon, pumpkin chips, chocolate chips, and candy canes. Too bad John got sick and wasn’t able to enjoy it the same day. =(
Day 8: 8 cookies. I had Allison help me bake these! It’s simply 2 bananas, 1 cup of oats, and some chocolate chips, baked at 350 for 15 minutes. They look a little clunky but taste delicious, and are healthy!
Day 9: 9 selfies of me and Allison. This one was rather fun to do, although I didn’t get all 9 because I forgot that this child sometimes takes 3 hour naps and I didn’t get enough pictures.
Day 10: Ten things I love about you. Wasn’t too hard to come up with. =)
Day 11: Eleven Hershey Kisses. Merry Kissmas!
Day 12: The 12 Dayts of Christmas! I am so excited about this one. I got the template here and did a mixture of their dates and mine. We now have a date night every month for all of 2016 so we don’t have an excuse not to do it!
This was a ton of fun to do, and John absolutely loved it. I’ll probably do this again next year, too! Do you have any creative ideas for each day? I’d love to hear them!
