4-Ingredient Baked Gnocchi

This easy Baked Gnocchi has only 4 ingredients! A simple vegetarian dinner with melty cheese and ready in 30 minutes!

Have you ever tried gnocchi before?

It’s typically a potato pasta, and they look almost like tater tots. But you can cook and use it like pasta.

I use gnocchi in a couple different ways, including roasting it on a sheet pan with chicken sausage and vegetables.

But this time around, I actually used it like pasta to create a Baked Gnocchi! And here’s the best part: It only has 4 ingredients.

It’s like a baked pasta, with melty mozzarella and a jar of spaghetti sauce. It’s a super easy vegetarian dinner that’s ready in less than 30 minutes!

Ingredients for baked gnocchi, on a stovetop

Ingredients

  • Gnocchi: I always use store-bought to save time
  • Spaghetti sauce
  • Basil: I used dried basil because I always keep it on hand, but you can use fresh if you want
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Variations

  • Add some extra veggies like mushroom or spinach!
  • Use an Italian blend cheese instead of just mozzarella
  • Add some sliced chicken sausages for a protein boost

How to Make

Preheat the oven to 400 degrees.

Boil a large pot of water, and add the gnocchi, cooking for just a couple of minutes until they start floating to the top.

Spoon them out with a slotted spoon (Or dump into a colander to drain), and pour into an 8×8 casserole dish.

Pour the spaghetti sauce evenly over top; then the basil; and finally, sprinkle the cheese on top. Bake for 15 minutes until the cheese is fully melted.

Divide into bowls and serve with your favorite sides!

How to Store

Once this cools to room temperature, store any leftovers in an airtight container in the fridge. Use up within 3-5 days!

What to Serve With This

This is a pasta-style dish, so I’d recommend serving this with some sides you would normally serve with pasta.

  • A side salad or Caesar salad
  • Sliced Italian loaf
  • Roasted or steamed vegetables, like broccoli or green beans
