If you have young children, then you probably know how crucial snacks can be. Those cute little monsters can easily be placated with a bag of fruit snacks or crackers; and honestly, we moms could use a snack too. I don’t know about you, but I can’t go more than a few hours without eating something. Otherwise, I turn into a beast!
While homemade snacks are always great, I like having pre-packaged snacks to keep in my purse for those snack emergencies. And since we eat a lot of snacks in this house (even though there are only 3 of us), I like to look at Sam’s Club sometimes for great deals.
And, because I’m a nerd and love numbers, I went through and priced out the best snacks to buy at Sam’s Club. The price-per-bar/ounce, as well as comparisons with Kroger and Aldi.
Here are some things to keep in mind:
- Price-wise, buying in bulk is not always better! Before you buy a huge box of granola bars at Sam’s Club, check for sales in your grocery ads. A lot of times these items will be on a Buy 5, Save $5 sale or something similar; and coupons can make these a much better deal.
- Before you buy in bulk, make sure you’ll actually use them all before they expire! You’ll only waste money if you buy 6 months worth of snacks that expire in 3 months. I’ve been sucked into the same trap at times too, so be careful!
- This is not an all-inclusive list of snacks you can find at Sam’s Club. I did research and chose the foods that my family has eaten and liked, and that are reasonably healthy. Use your own judgment when choosing snacks that best fit your family!
