Top 5 Summer Slow Cooker Recipes

5 summer slow cooker recipes to keep your house cool this season! www.nogettingoffthistrain.com

Is anyone else like us and try to keep the air conditioning off as much as possible during the summer? It’s one way to save money, and it’s usually not that awful in the house. We keep it at about 78 degrees during the day, 76 in the late afternoon/evening, and then 74 at night just to keep things cooler. There’s one thing that heats up the house really quickly, and happens often here: the stove. I cook every night, so I’m either using the stove or oven, which makes the kitchen really hot, and then travels throughout the house. One thing I’m going to try and do this summer is use my slow cooker more often! A slow cooker is super easy to put dinner together and forget about it during the day, and doesn’t heat up the house like the stove does.

While there are a TON of great recipes out there, today I’m sharing my top 5 summer slow cooker favorites. I’ve made all of these before and they’ve turned out delicious! Will you try any of these soon?

Buffalo chicken – Shredded buffalo chicken is one of my favorite things to make. Admittedly, I haven’t made it in awhile, but soon! It’s great on hamburger buns, but you can also use it in salad and even grilled cheese!

Slow Cooker Mexican Quinoa – Quinoa is a great alternative to rice, and the serving size is huge! I love making this.

Slow Cooker Sausage Jambalaya – This one’s a great frugal recipe. Just a few ingredients, and then throw it over some rice.

Meatball Stroganoff – Looking at this again has inspired me to make it again soon. John and I love stroganoff!

Slow Cooker Peach Cobbler – I know I’ve made this before, but I think I used canned peaches instead of fresh and it still turned out great. How cool is it to throw some ingredients together and have a yummy dessert a few hours later?

Do you have any favorite slow cooker recipes to share? I’m looking to add more to my list!
