If the people in your household are big snackers, it might be hard to keep food in the house.

Ingredients

  • English muffins
  • Tomato sauce
  • Basil
  • Oregano
  • Shredded mozzarella cheese

Additions and substitutions

The recipe I use is super simple, but there are so many things you can add to this freezer meal. Here’s what you can change:

  • Muffins: Use whole wheat muffins if you want an extra fiber boost
  • Sauce: Use a jar of store-bought pizza sauce
  • Toppings: Add pepperoni, olives, or any other favorite pizza toppings

How to make

A bowl of tomato sauce, topped with basil and oregano

In a small bowl, combine the tomato sauce, basil, and oregano.

Sprinkle the mozzarella cheese on top of the sauce.

A gallon-sized freezer bag holding English muffin pizzas

Place in the freezer for 2-3 hours until completely frozen, then divide into 2 gallon-sized freezer bags. Lay the bags flat in the freezer to keep the pizzas from falling over.

How to reheat

You can reheat these in a few different ways:

  • Toaster oven: Place in frozen, and cook in 1-2 minute increments until fully heated and the cheese is melted.
  • Oven: Use the broiler setting and heat until fully heated through.
  • Air fryer: Start at 350 degrees and cook for 2-3 minutes at a time.

You can heat these from frozen. But if you prefer, you can thaw these in the fridge overnight to ensure more even cooking.

These honestly make a great snack! If you want to eat this as an actual meal, here are some foods you can serve alongside them:

  • Salad (A big Caesar salad would be perfect!)
  • Steamed vegetables like broccoli or green beans
  • Fruit salad
  • Breadsticks, if you like extra carbs
  • Chips
