Cheeseburger? On a salad? Yes, it works, and it’s excellent! I made this a few weeks ago and it tastes just like a Big Mac. Working at McDonalds for almost ten years, I can confirm that yes, the taste really is similar! The thousand island dressing is really what makes the flavor pop out.
I’m becoming more of a salad person, because it’s an easy way to get in my daily intake of veggies. Now that I’m paying more attention to my food intake, especially the three macros- protein, fat, and carbs- I’m noticing that my salads are HUGE after I make them. Not even kidding, the last one I made had to be eaten in a mixing bowl after I added all of the lettuce and meat.
This cheeseburger salad doesn’t have to be THAT huge, but you certainly could. It has all the elements of a classic Big Mac- pickles, onions, cheese, thousand island dressing, and ground turkey/beef. Tomatoes don’t go on a Big Mac, but I figured more veggies are better! It’s easy to put together and makes plenty of leftovers! Give it a try and let me know what you think.
