Weight Loss Update 10/5:

This last week completely sucked. I started to get a cold on Sunday (Thanks Allison!), and it just progressed into an aching body, stuffy and runny nose, and nonstop coughing. I didn’t work out at all last week, only hit 10k steps maybe once, and I didn’t track everything I ate. Somehow, through all that… I lost a pound! What???

Weight loss last week: 1 pound
Weight loss since May 2015: 13 pounds

I’m definitely happy about it, but part of me is worried that the pound lost is from muscle. We’ll see what happens when I pick up my PiYo workouts again this week!

So what should we do when we’re sick? The most obvious answer is rest. For me, I couldn’t even imagine trying to wake up super early and work out with an achy body; I was afraid of making myself worse. I don’t know at what point we should start again, though! Toward the end of the week I was on the mend, but still breaking out into bad coughing fits. I didn’t want to start coughing in the middle of a workout and have to quit, so I just didn’t do them, and I feel guilty about that. Should I have just sucked it up and pushed through it? I have no idea! I’ve just been trying to ease back into making my daily 10,000 steps and we’ll go from there.

As far as my eating habits this week, well, they were somewhat bad. I tried to follow my plan the best I could early in the day, but… I happened to get sick the same time as that time of the month. So that meant horrible cravings, and I didn’t even care if it was bad for me because darn it, I was sick and deserved it! Thankfully, things are going a lot better.

Five Guys... holy cow.

Last night John and I went to Five Guys and devoured a huge cheeseburger and fries. It was date night and we haven’t been there in forever, so it was a nice splurge! I tried going for a run during Allison’s nap and totally succeeded. I figured it’d be good to burn a few extra calories to make room for dinner… and then when Allison woke up an hour after my run, she wanted to go around the block in the wagon and wanted me to go with her. So I definitely got in my exercise yesterday, haha!
