Oh boy, what a weekend! I got back from a mini-vacation this weekend (post upcoming), and actually did all my meal planning early yesterday morning. I usually do all that on Thursdays, then do my shopping on Saturdays, but since we were gone, I had to wait until Sunday to see Aldi’s ad to get a good idea of prices. And because I was in a rush to get things done, I was over budget by almost 3 dollars. Oops.
I have a simple menu this week, though. We had to buy a couple non-food items, so dinners are going to be cheap and easy. Not always a bad thing! Here’s what I got this week.
Wheat flour: $2.39
3 bags frozen vegetables: $1.00 each
2 boxes of plastic baggies: $1.00 each
Bell peppers: $.69
Tomato paste: $.39
Greek yogurt: $3.49
Crushed tomatoes: $.95
2 dozen eggs: $.69 each
Weekly Total: $33.73. Not pictured were 2 gallons of milk at Wal Mart, $1.79 each.
Lunch is always leftovers. Items marked with an asterisk (*) were purchased in previous weeks.
