Wow guys, I had a crazy awesome week. I visited 4 stores, and thanks to a few gift cards and careful planning, I’m still a dollar under budget. I’m so thankful for friends/secret sisters that helped out with gift cards; you have no idea how much that means to me, and I’m stretching them to make them last as long as possible!

I did have a huge fail at Kroger, though. I had a plan to get a bunch of stuff for free and pay like $.50 for 10 items. This included 4 bags of croutons, 4 packages of pads/tampons, and 2 bottles of Pine Sol. They only had 2 bags of croutons, were completely out of Pine Sol, and mostly out of the pads I had coupons for. So I put some stuff back and grabbed only 5 items…. one of which was put on the wrong shelf so it was $1.49, not $.49/free like I thought it was. I hate paying full price on things, especially on accident, but you live and learn. =)

I’m also incredibly grateful for Swagbucks right now. I use Swagbucks mostly for Sam’s Club gift cards to stock my pantry and freezer. Wipes, toilet paper, paper towels, as well as 5 pound bags of cheese, string cheese, chocolate chips… some of these things cost up to $20.00 and are still cheaper per ounce than buying them elsewhere. I can’t usually justify buying myself “luxury” items like these amazing dark chocolate chips, which are $8.00 a bag, but with Swagbucks, I have the ability to get us these expensive items every few months without having to worry about spending all our grocery money. Taking a few minutes every day to take surveys really helps!

Meijer

White whole wheat flour: $2.39. I’ve never seen this anywhere else, especially so cheap! I’m gonna try to use this instead of whole wheat flour for a “better” texture.
Mountain Dew: $1.00, brought to a cookout last week
3 cans Old El Paso enchilada sauce: $1.00 each

  • Used $1.00/3 coupon from the newspaper
  • Final price: $.70 each

5 pound bag shredded cheddar: $11.48
5 pound bag shredded mozzarella: $9.98
Maple syrup: $9.98
String cheese: $8.48
Coffee syrup: $4.58. I wanted to try using this instead of sugar to see if I liked it better in my coffee! So far, it’s really good.
