I hope everyone had a great weekend! I spent all of Saturday morning in the sun volunteering at an event, so I’m pretty much all Summer-ed out this weekend. Because of our weird weekend schedule, I did shopping Friday night instead of Saturday, and I’m glad I did! Aldi had bananas marked down to $.25 a pound instead of $.44, so I grabbed 4 bunches. This will be enough for breakfast, plus Allison’s lunch, plus snacks, yay! I love when little surprises like that happen.
I think the hardest thing right now about spending $30 a week for groceries is buying the non-food essentials. Like, John needed more hairspray and I needed to get some training toothpaste for Allison. Normally I’d just take that out of my weekly grocery budget, but since those two together were $6.00, I put it on a gift card I had, as well as the frozen veggies I was buying at Meijer anyway. That really helped this week, for sure! Let’s see what else I got.

2 bags of frozen veggies: $1.49 each. These were the 32-oz bags, which equals to about 75 cents per 16-ounces. Not a bad price!
