Click here for an explanation on how we’re eating for $30 a week!
Very slowly, we’re transitioning into eating solely for $30 a week. The only meal-like items in our freezer are a few bean and cheese burritos and two spiral hams, one of which I may use next week. Other than that, we’re pretty much on our own! If this week is any indication of what’s to come, I’d say we’re doing pretty good! John (half) joked that once he gets a job again, we should just stay at $30, and while I agree that it might be easy, I feel antsy when there’s a good deal somewhere and I can’t stock up! The deal finder in me itches to stock up my pantry again.
I ended up getting a bit of free stuff this week. We received a Kroger gift card from a special friend, so I’m using that just for really good deals, like the butter I got this week. I was also able to use my Swagbucks for a Sam’s Club gift card, and everything actually went according to plan this time! Let’s see what I got this week.
2 packages buns: $1.00 each. I usually make my own, but next week is busy and I’m feeling a bit lazy.
2 blocks of cheese: $1.00 each. I’m so mad; this is the cheapest I’ve ever seen block cheese, and I only had enough to buy 2, haha.
Canned olives: $1.00
Chobani Greek yogurt: $5.19, but got it for free thanks to an mPerk coupon. Make a $5.00 purchase and get it free, not bad!
Cheerios: Free thanks to a Kroger coupon in the mail
Colgate toothpaste: Free thanks to a Kroger coupon in the mail
Lindt chocolate stick: Free thanks to a Free Friday Download
Total: $0.00 thanks to a gift card
