$75 Weekly Shopping and Menu 2-6-17

Sharing is caring!

So, I didn’t intend to go shopping at 6 different stores this weekend. I originally planned 4, which still sounds like a lot, but stuff happened. I heard there was a sale on sausages at Kroger Friday only (which I planned to buy anyway), and then I had money left over after everything, so we took a trip to the bread outlet store and I think we’re all set on bread items for awhile. I have a hoarding problem when it comes to my freezer. =)

I did get a lot of really good stuff, though. I’ve been utilizing my pantry a lot, a mixture of using up what’s in my pantry and then refilling it again in the same week. It’s been leaving me with a bit of money left over each week, which I then use to stock even more. I’m beginning to realize a lot of my trips look really intimidating, and I don’t want them to be! I just happen to have more time during the day to make grocery trips; it also helps that I have one child who doesn’t mind walking around stores with me. It’s just the best way for me to make the best use of our money and we really do save a lot doing this. I like to make it more of a family outing trip so it’s more fun for all of us! Here’s what I was able to buy this week.

Nice haul! We shop at a lot of the same stores! :) Except our bread outlet is Aunt Millie's and I rarely make a stop at Fresh Thyme but I need to remember them for those times I make a Sam's run!

Focusing super hard on using up pantry and freezer items in meal planning right now and sites like yours are super helpful! Thank you!

Our menu this week contains things like Taco Dip + On the Border Chips (Side note - have you tried these? The small bags go on sale at Meijer for a decent price OR after you are addicted you can get HUGE bags from Sams for $2.97), Oven Chicken Fajitas, Crispy Coconut Chicken with Peach Honey Sauce, Swedish Meatballs with Beefy Mushroom Gravy and so on...

I usually shop on Thursdays and only go to Aldi and Meijer every week. Came in under our $60 budget by almost $7 this last trip - even with picking up a few extra Valentines Day things from Meijer for my son's class. It takes time to plan it all out but I'm going to keep plugging away at it!

Thank you for your kind words! =) Your menu sounds amazing this week. I've never had On The Border Chips but I'm definitely gonna check it out next time I'm at Meijer! You're doing amazing; keep it up!

I really need to shop Fresh Thyme instead of Trader Joe's. I only go once a month but usually get more impulse items more than anything. Just to try new things.

I've only been into Trader Joe's a couple times and have been meaning to try it out. =) I do love Fresh Thyme, although I really just go for the really cheap produce sales. I'm not too interested in the expensive natural/organic stuff.
