I was pretty excited about all the great deals I found this week! I find myself buying chicken every week it’s on sale, because it’s a cheap source of protein and I’d like to be able to eat it a couple times a week. And at $1.47 a pound this past week, I couldn’t pass it up! Turkey burgers were another good one; they were BOGO free at Meijer, and made for a good deal at $4.00 a box.
I was recently asked if we actually eat all the fruit I buy in a week… namely the strawberries. Looking back at my pictures, I think “Man, this really is a lot for a family of 3”. The answer is I won’t let it go to waste! Allison is slowly backing away from bananas and much prefers strawberries right now, and any kind of nutrition I can get in her is wonderful, so I give her as many strawberries as she wants. Usually she only eats 3-4 a day, but I help by adding a bunch to my yogurt at night. We had some left over from last week, so I chopped and froze for my later yogurt snacks. And as for grapes… I never buy them in the off-season because they’re so expensive, so we’re binging on grapes until I can’t buy them anymore! Here’s what the rest of my shopping trip looked like:
