Have I ever told you I’m a sucker for coupons? Just when I think I’ve finalized my grocery list, I’ll get something in my email and I’m just gone. That happened last week with Big Lots; I knew we needed more snacks, and I was tempted to tote Allison to Ollie’s, which is about 25 minutes away. Then I got an email from Big Lots, with a coupon for $5.00 when I spend $15.00. Jackpot! I feel like I’m on a treasure hunt when I go there, because sometimes I come across amazing deals like the Special K bars you’ll see below. Protein bars were on my wishlist, but it just wasn’t meant to be this week.

I finally got my chicken, though! Last week I saved up some money for chicken breasts at GFS but they were sold out; instead, I got frozen chicken at Aldi, who marked it down just enough to make it a good deal. I also feel like I won the lottery with Kroger; just look at the picture below! I get coupons in the mail every couple months, and this time I got 4 free item coupons; I combined that with two free digital coupons I had, plus the Free Friday Downloads, and felt pretty awesome when the receipt said I saved 88%! All in all, it was a great week. Check out what I bought!

Big Lots

Granola: $2.50
2 boxes Barilla pasta: $.50 each
4 boxes of Kelloggs pastry crisps: $1.00 each. Looks like another store had overstock so they sent a bunch here! Great price!
Tea: $2.00
Cereal: $1.00
Turkey sausage bites: $1.90
Ghirardelli chocolate: $3.50. One square a night makes a great dessert, and these are amazing!

Total: $10.90 after a $5.00 coupon I received in my email

Sam’s Club

Dark chocolate chips: $7.98
Peanut butter powder: $9.98. This is perfect for adding to yogurt and smoothies; 50 calories per 2 tablespoons as opposed to 190 calories for the same amount of regular peanut butter!
Bigelow tea: $6.00. You can see why they had to discount it!

Total: $23.96

2 bags of frozen chicken breasts: $5.49 each. It equals to about $1.79/lb, which is pretty good!
Sausage patties: $4.99. I like the turkey sausage we bought at Meijer, but this is a little cheaper.
Bananas: $1.96
Tomatoes: $1.99
Zucchini: $.99
Romaine hearts: $1.99
Baby wipes: $1.29
Cream of mushroom soup: $.49
Cooking spray: $1.49
Deli chicken: $2.39
Sweetened condensed milk: $1.49

Cole slaw mix: Free from the 10 for $10 sale

Total: $17.85 after a $2.00 mPerks coupon I received last week
Weekly Total: $89.40. I had leftover money from last week so it all evens out.
