I’m in an interesting situation this week.

I have about $9.00 left in my grocery budget after buying everything; this doesn’t happen often! I can usually fill it with random things we need, but this week I just didn’t spend it all. Part of the reason we have so much money left is that we’re eating out one day (John’s birthday!), and I didn’t need dinner that night. I’m sure that next week will have some awesome sales that I can’t pass up, so for now, I’ll just keep what’s left!

Thanks to the bread outlet, I’ve found my new favorite breakfast: A bagel and 2 scrambled eggs, sometimes scrambled with leftover veggies. This breakfast is cheap and keeps me completely full until lunch! There’s not much I eat that’ll keep me full that long without a snack, so I think I’ll be heading back to the store soon to find more $.50 bagels. Here’s what else I bought this week:

Entenmann’s Bread Outlet

1 loaf Sara Lee Artesano bread: $.50
4 bags Thomas bagels: $.50 each. I can’t wait to try the banana chocolate chip ones!
1 bag Thomas Bacon Buttermilk Pancake English muffins: $.50
1 box Little Bites: $2.00

Total: $5.00. Most of these went in the freezer for breakfast!

Chicken breasts: $9.15. I used the rest of my tax refund cash for this, so not included in the grocery budget.
4 cups YoCrunch yogurt: $.19 each, marked down
4 cans Old El Paso enchilada sauce: $1.00 each

  • Used 2 $1.00/2 printable coupons (NLA)
  • Final Cost: $.50 each

Smartfood popcorn: Free with Free Friday Download

Total: $1.91. I put in $10.00 cash so some of my grocery money was taken from that too; that’s why this total is low.

Dinner
Parmesan tomato soup, grilled cheese* (Bread in freezer)
Enchiladas* (Meat in freezer, doubling the recipe to bring to a friend), Spanish rice, strawberries
Garlic Parmesan chicken, Creamy Parmesan Rice, frozen green beans*
Out to dinner for John’s birthday
Baked ziti (It makes 2, bringing one to a friend. Lots of new babies!), dinner rolls, strawberries

Breakfast
