$75 Weekly Shopping and Menu 3-13-17

Back to a normal week! (Sort of.) Last week we participated in a week-long Daniel Fast, plus I had bought a ton of candy so our budget and menu looked weird. This week I’m trying to use up some of the stuff we have left over from the fast (So many beans…), so I have only 5 dinners planned.

The only deals I saw this week were bananas at Meijer, for $.38 a pound, and strawberries at Aldi for $1.29 each. So far, we’ve been really good about eating all of our fruit before it goes bad! I’ve been really bad about letting produce go to waste, but I’m getting better. I ate a banana every day for breakfast last week, and my new favorite breakfast is:

  • 1/2 cup rolled oats
  • 1 cup almond milk
  • 1 tablespoon peanut butter
  • 1 sliced banana

I’ve become obsessed with oatmeal now, and now that the fast is over I’ll add some chocolate protein powder to it to keep me full longer. So, so good…  I also did a breakfast freezer cooking session last weekend with money I had saved up over the past few weeks. I’ll include all details on the blog later, but we have enough in the freezer to last about a month, which should help with our budget! Here’s everything I bought this week.

Hair clips: $3.19
2 Chobani Flips: $1.29 each, submitted for a $.75 Ibotta rebate plus a $.25 Any Yogurt Brand rebate
Drink Chobani: $1.79, submitted for a $1.00 Ibotta rebate
Milk: $1.89, submitted for a $.25 Ibotta rebate
Bananas: $2.41, submitted for a $.25 Ibotta rebate
Bigelow tea: $2.69. Was going to do an Ibotta rebate but it disappeared, oops.

Total: $14.78, with $2.50 back in Ibotta rebates

2 bags grapes (1 not pictured): $1.98 each
2 packages green peppers: $1.29 each

2 rolls ground turkey: $1.89 each
1 roll ground sausage: $1.99
Tomato juice: $1.29

Apple juice concentrate: $.95
Orange juice concentrate: $1.19 (Above 3 were purchased earlier in the week)

Candy: $9.98. Needed to buy more to fill more Easter eggs.
