$75 Weekly Shopping and Menu 1-30-17

Sharing is caring!

Want to know what a family of 3 eats for $75 a week? Check back every Monday for a grocery list and menu! Week of: 1-30-17.

This week, I decided to get out one of the two hams we have in our deep freezer, and make our week’s menu using that. It makes my week so much easier to plan, and leaves me with a lot of money to use for stocking up- like peanut butter. Oh my, the peanut butter. My go-to price for peanut butter is $1.00 or less a jar, and when I see it that low, I pretty much go crazy. The last time I bought some was December 7th- about seven weeks ago. I bought 12 jars that day, and we’ve gone through 8 and a half jars in 7 weeks; I guess you could say we have a problem. =) But it’s the good stuff, Allison loves it, so why not keep an army’s worth in my cupboard?

I was pretty low on my grocery spending this week, which is great; I’m saving the overage for next week, when hopefully something else will go on sale. Frozen vegetables, please be frozen vegetables! The best part is that I keep adding stuff to my stockpile so that I can pretty much shop from my kitchen when it’s time to meal plan again, which means less money spent, which means more money to stock up, etc. It’s a perfect never-ending cycle. Here’s what I bought this week:

Do you freeze your bread? There is no way you use it all before it's expired so is that how you buy in bulk and still save?

Yep, we're kind of addicted to bread so I make sure we have different kinds in the freezer. =) I probably have way too much right now because I'm a huge impulse shopper at the outlet store.
