Today, I thought I’d do something fun and document our day in pictures. Life with a toddler can be more than interesting, what with the playing, the mood swings, the food they choose to eat… This is a typical day in the Bacon household (minus the donut every day for a snack, although none of us would complain).
Good morning! Allison always stays in bed when she wakes up, until I come get her. Unfortunately, our smoke detector had a false alarm a couple weeks ago, and hers is right above her bed, so now she’s somewhat traumatized. As soon as I come in every morning, she makes a mad dash to her chair.
This is the look of pure disappointment. I gave her a muffin when she wanted an oat bar (which she ate the last of the day before). She ended up eating that, and only that.
After a visit to the post office, where she was surprisingly well-behaved, we stopped at a local donut shop for a snack before heading to the museum to play.
We spent almost 2 hours here, running around and generally burning off excess energy (AKA the donut).
This is our view after lunch now. My darling daughter is no longer napping, so we park in front of the TV for about 90 minutes, watching a movie while I get some work done.
2:00 to 4:00 is where the day seems longest. Must keep the princess entertained as long as I can before she starts begging for her tablet. Books, toys, building forts, etc.
Finally, dinner! Out of everything on her plate, the only thing she touched was her bread with peanut butter. Who needs a balanced meal?
No picture to show with this one, but after dinner, she went potty, and I left to do something while she washed her hands. After talking to John for a minute, I realized she wasn’t out of the bathroom yet, so I ran in to find the soap bottle on the ground and her stepstool covered in foamy soap, with her rubbing her feet in it. “Mommy, the soap fell and I tried to clean it with my foot!”
After dinner was church, where she played hard and did a bunch of crafts, including her favorite: Stickers! Finally bedtime, and we all crash until the chaos starts again the next morning.
Have a great weekend, friends!
