April Blog a Day Challenge Day 1

Sharing is caring!

april blog a day

Karissa from A Fresh Start on a Budget has challenged bloggers to post every day in the month of April, with a new prompt each day. I’ve decided to take the challenge! I post every day anyway, but these are thought-provoking questions and it will help you all learn a little bit about me as well! I hope you can join me every day and answer some of these questions as well.

Day 1: Something that makes me smile

Something that makes me smile is definitely my daughter Allison. Having her in my life has changed me so much; nothing has tested my patience or expanded my love more than having a baby. Each day she learns something new, does something to surprise me or make me laugh. She doesn’t call me Mommy; I’m just “Mom”. When John and I go to the store with her and I wander off to the next aisle to look at something, I’ll hear a loud “MOOOOOOOOOM!” and I’ll turn around and she’ll be smiling and waving to me. She just fills up my heart and I’m so thankful that I’m able to stay home with her and teach her and be there for all the new things she does.

I’ve been teaching her sign language since she was about 10 months old. Not much, just a few basic signs. But she can tell me when she wants to eat, or if she wants water or milk, or if she wants to read a book, and she can even say please. I just recently taught her how to say “Love”, and she just does it in the cutest way.

She's adorable! I think it's hard for kids not to make you smile. I nannied for a 2 year old boy and no matter how I was feeling when I saw him he made me smile.
